THE UPSC BLUEPRINT / PRACTICE

CSAT Practice & Readiness

Treat CSAT as a qualifying examination that still requires a deliberate, individual preparation plan.

CORE AREAS

What to practise

Reading comprehension

  • Identify central claims, inferences and author assumptions.
  • Separate what a passage states from what an option suggests.

Logical reasoning

  • Practise arrangements, deductions and argument-based reasoning.
  • Track question types that consume disproportionate time.

Basic numeracy

  • Rebuild arithmetic, ratios, percentages and data interpretation.
  • Use timed sets only after basic methods are dependable.
READINESS CHECK

Diagnose before choosing your schedule

Begin with a representative timed diagnostic test. Review section-wise accuracy and time consumption, then allocate weekly practice to the weakest skill area. Reassess regularly rather than assuming CSAT will be easy.

CSAT is Prelims Paper II and is qualifying in nature, with a minimum qualifying standard of 33% under the established examination scheme. Confirm the applicable year’s official UPSC notification.
